Republican Congressman Jeff Duncan held a competing event on the same day as South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. Duncan's event drew over 800 - some estimates put the number at 1,000. It was a rough week or SC Governor Nikki Haley. She allowed her campaign to hype up her Monday announcement to a fever pitch. Haley even brought in Governors Jindal, Perry and Walker - all major GOP stars. Libertarians who seek to infiltrate the Republican party took another blow over the past week as we reported here, Jim Lee of Greenville County introduced a resolution to censure a former SCGOP Chairman among others. The SCGOP Executive Committee voted down Lee's resolution 41-2 sending Lee home with his tail between his legs.
