We couldn't think of a bigger winner this week than the increased awareness that will be achieved through the designation of September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in South Carolina. Childhood cancer is not a partisan issue and raising awareness and funds to support cancer research earns the top spot this week.
Loser: Strike on Syria
A majority of South Carolina's Congressional delegation made it clear they are either against a strike on Syria or are at best very skeptical. To the knowledge of our writters here at GOPwrite.com only one member of the delegation, Senator Lindsey Graham, has come out in support of the measure. At least two members of the delegation, Congressman Jeff Duncan and Congressman Mark Sanford, have both said they do not support a strike.
Winner: Bryan Stirling
Stirling served as Governor Nikki Haley's Chief of Staff for approximately one year and has now accepted an appointment to serve as the Director of the SC Dept. of Corrections. Stirling has been widely praised by those who have worked with him over the years.
Loser: Lee Bright
Bright's campaign is floundering... and badly. This week they resorted to having Lee Bright respond to questions from Lindsey Graham's YouTube page. It's clear they are having severe difficulty gaining traction in the Palmetto State.
